How to crop image
- Choose a suitable static JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF or AVIF from your device.
- Enter a crop width and height, then move the frame horizontally and vertically. The preview shows exactly what will remain.
- Choose an output format, prepare the image and use Download image to save it.
Does cropping change the file size?
Cropping removes pixels and usually reduces file size. The exported size also depends on format and quality.
Can I open iPhone HEIC and AVIF photos?
Yes. Static HEIC/HEIF photos are decoded on your device; the decoder loads only when needed. AVIF requires browser support. Image collections and animations are not supported. Exports are JPG, PNG or WebP, rather than HEIC or AVIF. For government forms, check whether conversion or editing is allowed.
What happens to my original?
Your original file is unchanged. Processing happens in this browser without uploading your image to FileMelon. A new export may have a different file size, colour appearance or metadata. Check the preview and output before using it.
