How to blur or pixelate image
- Choose a suitable static JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF or AVIF from your device.
- Choose a soft blur or a pixelated effect and set its strength. This tool applies the effect to the entire image, rather than a selected face or region.
- Choose an output format, prepare the image and use Download image to save it.
Is blur safe for hiding confidential information?
Do not rely on blur or pixelation to securely redact sensitive information. Remove or cover confidential information permanently with an appropriate redaction tool.
Can I open iPhone HEIC and AVIF photos?
Yes. Static HEIC/HEIF photos are decoded on your device; the decoder loads only when needed. AVIF requires browser support. Image collections and animations are not supported. Exports are JPG, PNG or WebP, rather than HEIC or AVIF. For government forms, check whether conversion or editing is allowed.
What happens to my original?
Your original file is unchanged. Processing happens in this browser without uploading your image to FileMelon. A new export may have a different file size, colour appearance or metadata. Check the preview and output before using it.
